calvary updates 10/16/2026

As you begin this new week, do you see yourself on a mission? As you consider that question, think about God dropping Adam and Eve into the Garden of Eden. Adam & Eve were created and put on this earth and told to be fruitful and multiply. Yes, they were to know the blessing of having children, but also to pass on the light of the knowledge of God. They were to let their children know the privilege that God gave them to be in a relationship with him. God wanted them to know him as a person, to share his fellowship and presence. Those around us need to recognize that each human being is given talents, gifts and a purpose for living. All of that from the kind heart of God.
Genesis 1
26Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”
27So God created mankind in his own image,
in the image of God he created them;
male and female he created them.
28God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.”
Because I am made in the image of God, I can reflect to others God’s unique likeness in me. His gifts in me express his personal creativity. As a believer, carrying the Spirit of God, I bear witness that a Savior has come in the person of Jesus Christ. Jesus has anointed his people to carry the torch of God's presence into a hurting world.
It’s like a runner carrying an Olympic torch through the countryside or cities from one country to another. That torch bearer announces that a new competition is about to begin. Come and see what the athletes have accomplished through the strict honing of their craft. Can we not call others to come and see what value and purpose God has allowed me to know through Jesus? You are valuable and usable in the eternal purposes of God.
