**Calvary Mission's Team off to Brazil July 9th**

Our team includes Frank and Robin Winfrey & Vonna and Gary Hale (pictured left to right). We have a unique opportunity to partner with Brazil Gospel Fellowship Mission (BGFM) as volunteers in the Living Waters English Immersion Course held at New Hope Bible Training Center located in Pacoti (northeastern part of the country), We get a crash course in ESL instruction before the camp begins on July 11th.

Calvary Baptist Church has been a part of BGFM missionaries David and Connie Johnson’s support team since 1988. They were the ones that requested us to come. We will be part of a team of Brazilian and American instructors (24 to be exact).

As of today, these are our assignments. I am to be involved in leading some devotions. Gary and I are ESL class assistants. Robin is leading a craft class and serving as the camp nurse (a doctor will present as well). Vonna is teaching a cookie cooking class. In all the classes there are hands-on activities and an English skill set to achieve. We were also told to be prepared to share our personal testimonies of how we came to know Christ.

It is thrilling for us to have a small part in strengthening the ongoing ministry of one of our own missionaries and see first hand their impact. Being able to participate in this way will be a huge encouragement to our entire congregation. We are expecting God to teach, stretch and change us through the experience!

We covet your prayers over all our assignments. We ask for traveling mercies, safety and physical stamina. Ask God to use our words and example to point people to Christ. "May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable to You, Lord, my rock and my Redeemer" (Psalm 19:14).

Sunday, July 5th Sunday School at 9:15 and Worship at 10:30 AM.

IF you haven't made it to Calvary yet, I encourage you to meet the great people that join us on Sundays. I am enjoying our discoveries in I John as we continue our sermon series, "Verification Code Please?" The title this Sunday is "The Litmus Test of Obedience." In our Sunday School classes we are learning, in the first class, about the very different lives of David and Saul. In the second, the final judgements that conclude Daniel's prophecies. God give us a teachable spirit as you unfold your word! Donuts and coffee will be served at 9:15 AM.

Brazil Missions Trip. July 9-21st. Continue to pray for and consider investing in sending our team to Brazil. Mission giving envelopes are at the rear of the Sanctuary.
