calvary updates 10/30/2026

It is always a beautiful morning when the residents of the Adult and Teen Challenge recovery program lead us in testimonies and song. Their stories of hope and healing never cease to amaze us. Make it a point to come and hear story after story of God turning a life around. You will also be invited to stick around for a meal after their presentation and enjoy good food and fellowship.
Their facility is very close to our church located just south of the corner of the Route 29 and 98 intersection in North Pekin. Big plans are in the works for them to be able to expand their impact by renovating a new facility in West Peoria. You will hear more about this effort Sunday.
The results of this ministry in helping individuals to leave behind drug addiction and walk a new life in Christ are extremely impressive. Here are some praise worthy stats, 78% remain sober after completing the program and 93% report no new legal challenges after completion.

Our training began in earnest this past Wednesday. Katrina Forseth and Jill Hostetler provided our team with some excellent information on the importance sharing the gospel with children. We will have another training before beginning the new club at C.B. Smith Elementary School on November 23rd. The idea of a Good News Club is to provide a fun and loving opportunity for kids to learn about Christ immediately after school once a week. Keep this effort in prayer. Ask God to send the children that need to be part of this club.

We have two options in our Sunday School to encourage you. In our first Sunday School class the lesson will pull from 2 Kings and Isaiah. The second class will focus on Wisdom from God in our Bible Studies for Life series. Before classes begin grab a coffee and a donut.

Today's readings were: 2 Kings 11,12• Hosea 3,4• 2 Timothy 2• Psalm 119: 121-144. If you are looking for a different reading plan, you might enjoy:

Hosea's wife bore him a third child, a son, and he was instructed to call him: Lo-Ammi. The name was specifically chosen to remind Israel of a painful truth concerning their relationship with God. What was that message according to Hosea 1:9?
My friend, enjoy your week!
In Jesus joy,
