My garden needed the rain today. Water obviously is a necessity of life. I think we've all heard of the amazing transformation a soaking rain can have on a desert landscape in a matter of hours.

Psalm 65:9 You care for the land and water it; you enrich it abundantly. The streams of God are filled with water to provide the people with grain, for so you have ordained it.
When we are feeling weak and vulnerable, I want to encourage you to boldly ask the Lord to send to you a special touch and a fresh renewal. When we have stumbled and distanced ourself from God by an act of disobedience, repentance and confession opens to door for the Spirit of God to move and restore us. This was Peter's message to the repentant Jews in Jerusalem shortly after Pentecost. Acts 3:19 Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord.
Consider these lines from this familiar hymn.
Showers of Blessing
There shall be showers of blessing:
This is the promise of love;
There shall be seasons refreshing,
Sent from the Savior above.
Chorus : Showers of blessing,
Showers of blessing we need;
Mercy-drops round us are falling,
But for the showers we plead.
2
There shall be showers of blessing—
Precious reviving again;
Over the hills and the valleys,
Sound of abundance of rain.
3
There shall be showers of blessing;
Send them upon us, O Lord!
Grant to us now a refreshing;
Come, and now honor Thy Word.
4
There shall be showers of blessing;
O that today they might fall,
Now as to God we’re confessing,
Now as on Jesus we call!
5
There shall be showers of blessing,
If we but trust and obey;
There shall be seasons refreshing,
If we let God have His way.
I love those last two lines: There shall be seasons refreshing, if we let God have His way!
