Whenever you sign up to be a part of mission project overseas there are so many unknowns. Robin and I were fortunate to have had mission experience in Africa, Gary and Vonna had never ventured outside of the US. They were willing to take a big leap of faith. Robin and I were encouraged to see how they fought to persevere in the midst of physical challenges. God used all sorts of circumstances to stretch us and teach us. Yes, we went knowing we would be asked to teach others, but in so many instances we had to humble ourselves and be attentive to what God was trying to teach us as well. When we step out to do what's uncomfortable, you should expect God to shape your own character.
What all of us found as we began to interact with our Brazilian hosts was a "bend over backwards" attitude to ensure that we had what we needed to succeed. They went above and beyond on so many occasions to help us. Their love for Jesus was contagious and refreshing. We came away with friends we grew to love and we find ourselves missing them today.
God allowed our team of 24 Americans to get a glimpse of heaven as God woos people from all around the globe to come to believe in the Lord Jesus. And they sang a new song, saying: “You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, because you were slain, and with your blood you purchased for God persons from every tribe and language and people and nation" (Revelations 5:9).

Our main focus instead of a sermon will be catching people up on our Brazil trip. Come and make new discoveries in our Sunday School as we learn more about King Solomon in our Old Testament focus and our second study is, "Connecting with Others Like Jesus Did." Have a late breakfast with our donuts and coffee at 9:15 AM. Thanks for the donuts Greg and Gina!
