The one who began a good work in you will complete it (Philippians 1:6).
The one who began a good work in you will complete it (Philippians 1:6).

When God begins his work in us, it is His Holy Spirit that takes up residence in our heart. John the apostle in his gospel likens this creative power in us to a spring of living water. John 7: 37-39: "... Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, “Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink. 38 Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.” 39 By this he meant the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were later to receive."

It is no small thing that God brings his divine life to fill us and empower us. Remember Jesus promise to change us forever. John 10:10, "...I have come that they might have life and have it to the full." That fullness is found in Jesus.

I want to touch on Jesus' call to the thirsty ones in John 7:37, "Let anyone is thirsty come to me and drink." What are you thirsty for? Is it for more of Jesus? Is it for more of him to be formed in you? He is always willing. But for him to do his work, we have to die to our plans, our designs to make life work. We have to want him, and thirst for him as our highest need. Make it your prayer to "seek first his kingdom and his righteousness" (Matthew 6:33). And remember another promise of his abiding presence to guide us on this journey. "And lo I am with always even to the end of the age" (Matthew 28:20).

What to expect Sunday.

I hope you can join us at 10:30 AM. I will bring a message where we ask ourselves are the fruits of Jesus being formed in us? We will look in Matthew 7 and James 3 and our title is, "Recognizable Fruit." We have two options for Sunday School begin at 9:30 AM... in the first we are exploring the Old Testament history and the other on Daniel. Arrive a little early and get a good cup of coffee and a donut at 9:15 AM.
