Community Picnic

Rotary Park, corner of State and 11th Street, Pekin IL

This Saturday, August 11th, 4PM

We will share some hot dogs and brats and multiple side dishes. Invite one of your neighbors to come an join you. We will play some games and give away some prizes.

It is just good to come together with people in a relaxing picnic format an share some good food with friends old and new.

2 Timothy 1:9 He has saved us and called us to a holy calling, not because of our works, but by His own purpose and by the grace He granted us in Christ Jesus before time began.

We are beginning a dive into the topic of discipleship. Paul provides careful instruction to his main disciple Timothy. His practice was always to raise up leaders for the next generation who would call others to faith in Christ and pointing followers to give their lives to the Great Commission.

From 2 Timothy 1:9 we learn that we are graced with a holy calling. Not to live for ourselves, but for him! He has a divine purpose for us to find great joy and fulfillment by living according to his wonderful designs that he had in mind when he made us.

I would suggest reading through the books of 1st and 2nd Timothy multiple times over the next few weeks as we begin to study it. God has some many riches for us to unpack.

In 2 Timothy 1, Paul said that he was serving God with a "clear ___________________." Once you find the answer, consider how this is possible for you and me?
