An on time God who brings us a message of hope, correction and instruction
An on time God who brings us a message of hope, correction and instruction

The times we live in can be confusing. People proclaiming emphatically that know exactly what you need. And sometimes they may just be right. But as believers who have been rescued from a sin corrupted future, we have been granted access to the counsel of God. Life will confound us at times and new obstacles (sickness, financial struggles, damaged relationships, bad news) occupy our minds and can rob us of the peace with which Jesus wants us to be armed. Jesus says in John 14:27, "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid." When life "ruffles your feathers" this week begin to ask God for his peace. God uses those rough moments to make us more hungry for God's instruction and guidance. And he brought an "on time word" throughout the history of the Jewish nation. When times were dark God sent his prophets with specific messages and sometimes they were hard to hear. "Jeremiah 1:2 states, "The word of the LORD came to him in the thirteenth year of the reign of Josiah son of Amon king of Judah." This dating situates Jeremiah's prophetic ministry within a concrete historical framework, emphasizing the real-world implications of his messages." (from Biblehub.com) For us God often will highlight a specific passage to correct, redirect or assure us with a promise that is timely and applicable to our specific need. But to hear his word, we have to be people that seek him consistently and most importantly we must want to hear and apply what he shares! My challenge to you is to be expectant this week to hear from God and expect him to speak to your need. He cares for you and me remember that.

Do you have any idea how many times the Old Testament contains the words, "and the word of the Lord came to...?" God speaks to his people so often throughout history.
