Are we saying goodbye to summer?
Are we saying goodbye to summer?

Cooler weather has definitely visited us the last few days. I have enjoyed a reprieve from the heat! Istart to enjoy the cooler weather, but then I put the dampers on that refreshing moment by reminding myself that the cold is coming and I have unfinished outdoor projects. In my mind I begin to scramble to map out how I will complete them all in time.

Doesn't it seem like we scramble too often? We battle to remain calm because there always seems to be a ""to do list" occupying the planning space of our brain.

Life and it's responsibilities do bring a tension that must be managed. For the Christian what resources have we been given to navigate this? A few come to my mind rather quickly: 1) Pray without ceasing. Commit your day and the tasks ahead to the Lord.

2) Thank God in advance for His provision as you pray expectantly that God will provide for your daily needs or daily bread. 3) Practice a faith response to each day's "to do list." "And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him" (Hebrews 11:6). 4) Meditate on the promises of God to strengthen your faith. "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future" (Jeremiah 29:11). "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight" (Proverbs 3:5,6). 4) We never walk through life alone. "Lo, I am with you always even to the end of the age" (Matthew 28:20).
