Do you know what I know?

Have you ever been startled when you saw your reflection and you had something out of place or remnants of your last meal? (Confession, my beard is not a pretty site after I've scarfed some spaghetti).
Last week I asked the congregation, "Does the Church have an Identity Crisis?" Is it possible we have somethings out of place? I think we should grapple with two realities. 1) Seeing ourselves merely as a group engaging in familiar weekly worship patterns is not enough to define us. 2) Living as redeemed people who are on a mission to carry the message of reconciliation to the world (2 Corinthians 5). Truthfully, our weekly patterns of worship have some powerful lessons to teach us. We are called to worship God. The lie we sometimes believe is that once we have completed our worship on Sunday morning we have checked off our responsibilities for the week. Not true. We are called to reach out to our hurting world. This is where the commands in 2 Corinthians 5 come to grip us.
This Sunday we will reflect on our own identity in Christ. Here is a quote from Kenneth Boa I'll share with you ahead of the message. "Christ is not merely alongside us or in front of us: he is in us, and he wants to express his life through us." Hold the phone! Jesus wants to express His life through me! What a privilege. Would you pray for God to speak to us about our identity? Ask him to deepen our understanding of being in Christ.
AT THE END OF MY MESSAGE LAST WEEK...
I asked you to consider how we could enhance our prayer ministry? I quoted Psalm 127:1, "Unless the LORD builds the house, the builders labor in vain. Unless the LORD watches over the city, the guards stand watch in vain." Only God can build and grow us and our ministry and community impact. Let's be vigilant to engage the Lord in prayer that He build His house here. Email me or get my ear to share new ways we can grow our prayer ministry.
This Tuesday, June 3rd, Flourish is heading to Avantis after their 10 am meeting for a meal.
June 7th, Saturday at 8:30 am the men will have their men's breakfast gathering.

Invite someone to join you this week in worship or the other events.
