calvary updates 11/21

If a picture says a thousand words, I think this one does. Here is a representation of a determined prayer warrior.

If the battle belongs to the Lord as I Samuel 17:47 teaches, then we need to be on our knees. We will only consistently take advantage of the Lord's desire to be attentive to our prayers, if our hearts are in a healthy faith posture. Jeremiah 33:3, "Call to Me and I will answer you, and I will tell you great and mighty things, which you do not know (NASB)."

One of the needs that you and I will face in the coming years is an increased evil opposition. The battle will at times be intense. Following Christ will come at a cost, and there will be battle scars and difficulties to endure along the way. Your faith will stay strong if you navigate these trials with a prayerful and a thankful mindset. God will provide strength and courage along the way. As we experience the provisions of God in the midst of a battle we need to remember to be thankful. The Thanksgiving holiday is a great time to be intentional in sharing with others the good things God has provided for you and your family. What a good and gracious God we serve, and it's an honor to yield control of our lives over to him.

WHAT TO EXPECT SUNDAY

Make plans to join us for worship this Sunday at 10:30 am, preceded by Sunday School at 9:15am. Our message will highlight the faithful response of the Pilgrims to adversity. Their example of faithfulness can direct us today.

Here is a song you will hear Sunday, Kari Jobe - I Am Not Alone (Live)

You can click on the title link to listen.

Note: We will be in the fellowship room again this week due to furnace issues.
