Because our Lord knows us so well, He is able to provide tailor made gifts that bring us great joy. Friendships are one of the good ones. They take a little time to develop, but they should be valued and never underestimated. Two scriptures come to mind. Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows (James 1:17). One who has unreliable friends soon comes to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother (Proverbs 18:24).

What are you doing to deepen your friendships? What investments are you making in this area? Maybe you've heard it said there are two things that will last forever, God's Word and people. So if you invest your life in these two things, dividends that last forever can be yours!

When you think back through the last year, have you had people who encouraged you, who spoke into your life? Maybe you can't think of anyone. That is sad. Buck the trend and purpose yourself to make a difference for someone else. Is there a person that you could encourage today? Would you take a moment right now and ask God to put a person on your heart? Then ask Him for creative ways to bless them. Then take another step, call me or send a note to let me know the outcome. I'd love to hear what God does by amazing, simple acts of encouragement!

This Sunday, Pastor John King will be visiting us and bring a special message entitled "Be Still and Know." John has a been such a faithful friend to Robin and me. I am in NC at my high school reunion and I am bringing my Mom back with me. She will be gracing our home for the next six months. Pray for safe travels on Tuesday please.

Men's Breakfast. October 4th, Saturday at 8:30am

Adult/Teen Challenge October 5th the men will be visiting us in our morning service

New Member's Class October 12th immediately after church.

Harvest Festival Revised date: October 17th, Friday at 5:30pm, our 3rd annual.

FYI. Our evening Flourish group kicked off last Monday. The purpose is to provide a way for ladies who work or who have schedule conflicts during the daytime to be a part. Keep your ears open for the next date!
