There is a coolness in the air. A change is coming. Are you ready to see change? Usually my answer is no. I like familiarity. I don't like surprises. How about you? Because God is at work behind the scenes (and He never sleeps) be always ready to experience something new. Believers in Christ have this weird dichotomy of being both a spiritual being and a physical being. You have probably heard these two statements... "We are not home yet" & "This world is not our home." But it's hard to juggle so many earthly responsibilities and maintain an eternal focus. I believe clarity comes when we navigate life with a keen eye that we are on a pilgrimage to an eternal prize. We do live in this world, but it is not our permanent home. If we receive life's "curveballs" or sudden change with a belief that God is at work in my life for good (Romans 8:28), it stabilizes and centers us even in the unexpected. We must operate life from a faith response that believes even the unexpected can produce changes that bear good fruit for eternity. Fruits that we will savor forever, and ever. Amen!
Thanks to all the people that came out in support of Adult and Teen Challenge last week. Calvary gave them a check for $200 and the free will offering blessed them with another $320. The testimonies they shared were amazing. And great job to all those who organized a great meal after the service!
Sunday we will continue in our series "Discipleship Alignment" from 2 Timothy 2. We will get a better picture of what discipleship is from verse 2 of the second chapter. "And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others."
Our Harvest Festival will be a time of fellowship around some fire pits. Good food, including apple cider and deserts. Great time to invite people to join us. THIS SUNDAY WE WILL BE PASSING A SIGN UP SHEET FOR PEOPLE TO DONATE SIDE DISHES TO ENHANCE OUR MEAL.

I referenced Romans 8:28, the next verse gives a reason for God's use of circumstances, good and challenging, do you know what it is?
