Community Picnic

Come join us for good food, games and prizes.

We loved being able to be with friends and neighbors near our church last summer. We plan to do it again. Expect to enjoy a fun cookout and some culinary delights from the amazing cooks in our church.

Rotary Park just recently went through a series of upgrades, and we will be among the first to take advantage of all that the city did to improve it. We will have some flyers available for you to distribute this Sunday. Be thinking of people that you can invite now.  Just keep us posted on the number planning to attend!

I am reminded of the care that Jesus took to feed the 5,000 and the 4,000. Jesus also turned a huge family embarrassment into blessing for all in attendance when he turned water into wine at a wedding feast. Good food and satisfying our hunger are all important to our Lord. Celebrating around a table is a joy for us as well.

Here is the account of the feeding the 5,000 in Matthew 14: ¹⁸ “Bring them here to me,” he said. ¹⁹ And he directed the people to sit down on the grass. Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke the loaves. Then he gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the people. ²⁰ They all ate and were satisfied, and the disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over. ²¹ The number of those who ate was about five thousand men, besides women and children.

Short Meeting this Sunday. On Sunday, right after church, I will be laying out a new survey initiative to help provide some insight into ways we can serve and be a blessing to the community. I also need your input. 15 minutes of your time is all I need. See you then.
