5/9 calvary Update

Greetings to you in the matchless name of our Savior Jesus!

What a great weekend last week! A great visit from Paul and Leah Manyara from Kenya. They reported on their amazing work in East Africa. God has given them influence and ministry in a 100 churches and we share in that harvest through our giving. Thanks Marilee for helping to arrange their visit.

Also, so appreciative for all the work our group accomplished during our "spring clean up" last Saturday. Thank you, John and Dawn, for all the work on the great breakfast before we started the work. Many others added some tasty dishes as well.

This Sunday we will celebrate Mother's Day. I hope you will make a special effort to let your mom know she is loved. Maybe your mom is gone, but there is an auntie or a special neighbor that treats you well. Give them a call or timely gift. We will have a little something for all our moms this Sunday during worship to honor you all.

"Honor your father and your mother so that you may have a long life in the land that the Lord your God is giving you" (Exodus 20:12).

Our message on Sunday is titled, "Keeping the Lions at Bay." I want to arm our moms with truth that will guard them against the attacks of the Devil and accusers who say you failed to do your job. It's tough to raise kids, and this world's aim is to suck our kids in to destructive behaviors. I want to celebrate the way God has gifted women to love and nurture.

Before our worship time we have two Sunday School classes at 9:15 that are discovering amazing truths from God's word. The first is the Genesis Project learning from the beginning of God's creation. The second class is walking through the book of Revelation. Here we see God's plan to wrap up history.

If you are seeking to read through the scriptures in a year, you reading today would have you learning about the rule of King David in 2 Samuel 8 & 9, as well as I Chronicles 18.

MAY 18TH 4 PM. We will have another edition of our Movie Night.
